The Product
Ryoyo Voice Recognition System
This is a standalone voice recognition system based on a voice recognition IC produced by our supplier Silan.
Special features:
- 1 mic input (supports analog mic and I2C digital mic)
- Noise cancellation, voice recognition, and audio feedback in a single chip
Depending on the model, the system can handle anywhere between 10 and 120 commands.
Sample Applications:
The Ryoyo Voice Recognition System is already being used in air conditioning units, lamps, televisions, and other household electronics.
The Technology
Voice recognition is an indirect type of human-machine interface.
Steps of voice recognition:
1. A voice is entered into the system (through a microphone)
2. The voice data is processed (e.g., it’s translated into text, or keywords are recognized)
In some cases, there is a third step:
3. Output (e.g., of a written message, a document, or a voice command through a speaker)
Usually, there are two types of voice recognition systems, each with its own pro’s and con’s:
Cloud-based voice recognition
PROs:
- User data can be stored
- Easy to update
CONs:
- They need a Wi-Fi or BLE or LTE module and corresponding wireless environment
- Security concerns
Standalone voice recognition
PROs:
- Simple build, no initial setup necessary
- Very short response time (under 0.5 sec)
CONs:
- System cannot easily be updated
- Voice recognition engine has to be developed for each single product
Ryoyo Voice Recognition System
The Ryoyo Voice Recognition System is a standalone system.
We use a voice recognition IC by our supplier Silan. The following data processing steps for voice recognition are carried out inside this IC:
- Noise/echo cancelling
- Extraction and recognition of characteristic values
- Output of recognition result
- Playing of a response audio file
